- Who can use the MyThomson app?
The MyThomson app is for customers who have booked directly with Thomson, in a Thomson shop, online or over the phone. You can log in to your personalised MyThomson app 3-4 days after you have made your booking.
To log in you will need:
- Your lead passenger surname. (That’s the person who booked your holiday and receives all correspondence)
- Your departure date.
- Your booking reference number – it looks like this: 1234/567891.
The first set of numbers can be between 3 and 4 numbers long.
The second set of numbers can be between 4 and 8 numbers long.
You can find all of this information in the email ‘Your booking and MyThomson log in details’, which you should have received 3-4 days after booking your holiday. Alternatively, you’ll find this information in the holiday booking documents you received when you made your booking. If you’ve entered all of your details correctly and still can’t log in, please send an email to:
- Is there anyone that can’t use the app?
Sorry, you can’t use the app if:
- You didn’t book directly with Thomson.
- You’ve booked a Thomson Cruise.
- You’ve booked a First Choice holiday.
If you are a Thomson Cruises customer you can still manage your holiday online at my.thomson.co.uk
If you are a First Choice customer you can still manage your holiday online by visiting my.firstchoice.co.uk or by visiting the App or Play Store and downloading the MyFirstChoice app.
- What country can I download the MyThomson app in?
The MyThomson app can be downloaded for free from the App or Play Stores in the UK, once you’ve downloaded it you can use it in any country you visit on holiday. If you’re on holiday, don’t worry, you can still download the app through the UK App or Play Stores. Tip: Whilst overseas, save your data allowance and look for a Wi-Fi hotspot to download the app.
- What phone and operating system do I need?
You can use the MyThomson app on an iPhone 4, 5, 5c or 5s installed with iOS6 or higher, and any Android phone running Gingerbread or higher.
- Can I view the app with no internet connection?
For optimum performance and updates, you will need to connect to Wi-Fi or 3G to view the MyThomson app – this is particularly important when you are logging in for the first time. If you would like to use the app in flight mode, or while you’re abroad without using Wi-Fi or 3G, please make sure you download the latest content using an internet connection before you leave.
- Why can’t I log in to the MyThomson app?
When you log in for the first time, you will need to connect to 3G or Wi-Fi so that we can verify your booking details. Please remember that the MyThomson app is only available to customers who have booked a Thomson holiday in a Thomson store, online or over the phone. Please allow 3-4 days after making your booking before attempting to log into MyThomson for the first time.

- How do I use the app if I have more than one booking with Thomson?
Unfortunately the MyThomson app doesn’t support multiple bookings. When you need to view a particular booking within the app, you will need to log in using the lead passenger surname, booking reference number and departure date, unique to that holiday.
- Can I use the app if I am part of a group booking?
You or anyone else in your group can use the MyThomson app. To log in you will need the lead passenger surname – that’s the person that booked your holiday, the booking reference number and the departure date of your holiday.
Your lead passenger can find this information in the email ‘Your booking and MyThomson log in details’, which is sent to them three days after booking your holiday, or within the holiday confirmation documents received when the booking was made.
- Why can’t I see any content after logging in?
We’re sorry you’re experiencing problems with the app. If you can’t see any content please close the app, reopen it and enter your log in details again. If the problem persists, please send an email detailing your lead passenger surname, booking reference number and departure date to:
- A page won’t load in the app, what can I do?
Please try reloading the page by pulling it downwards. If there is still no content available, please close the app, reopen it and log in as usual. If the problem persists, please send an email detailing your lead passenger surname, booking reference number and departure date to:
- When will the MyThomson app be available on other devices?
The MyThomson app is only available on iPhone and Android phones at the moment. We hope to roll it out to other devices in the near future. Please check for updates at www.thomson.co.uk/myapp/mythomson.html

- What are push notifications?
Push notifications are handy little reminders to make sure you never forget about the important things before you go on holiday. A few of the push notifications you can expect to receive from us include:
- When Select Your Seat opens to make sure you’re one of the first in line to get the seats you want.
- When you can check in online, making your top to the airport even easier.
- Any important updates about your holiday.
- How do I turn on push notifications?
If you’re updating the MyThomson app or installing it for the first time, you’ll be asked if you want to allow push notifications, make sure you click ‘allow’ when you see this message. If you’ve turned off push notifications and want to turn them back on go to > Settings > Notification Centre > MyThomson and enable push notifications.
- Where can I find out more about holiday extras?
If you have a question about buying an extra please visit our holiday extras page. If you have already bought an extra and would like to discuss it further, please contact us in store or by calling our customer service team.
- When will my flight details be available?
Your flight times will be available to view six weeks before you depart. When they’re ready, we will display your final flights on the ‘Holiday summary’ and ‘Flight details’ pages in the MyThomson app.
- What’s the difference between my booking reference number and my flight and hotel reference number?
Your booking reference number allows you to log in to the MyThomson app and should be used whenever you contact us. To book your seat and row number you will need your flight and hotel reference number – you can find this at the top of the ‘Holiday summary’ page in the MyThomson app.
- Can I upgrade any part of my holiday directly through the app?
We’ll be adding this feature to the MyThomson app in the future. In the meantime you can upgrade your flight or hotel by visiting Firstchoice.co.uk and selecting Extras, or if you booked your holiday in store, please visit or call them for assistance.
- How do I navigate around the app?
You can navigate the MyThomson app in two ways – using the tiles on the homepage, or through the menu on the left hand side. If you are on a page and want to view another, tap the menu button in the top left hand corner to reveal the full menu.
- How do I share content?
If you connected to Facebook or Twitter when you logged in, you can share your holiday via social networks by tapping the ‘Share’ button. If you didn’t connect at log in, we will prompt you to do this when you tap ‘Share’.
- Can I view the extras and excursions that I’ve purchased on my ‘Holiday summary’ page?
We’ll be adding this feature to the MyThomson app in the future. In the meantime, please refer to the booking documentation or confirmation that you received when you purchased your Extras.
- How can I check if I have done everything I need to before my holiday?
The ‘Important information’ page on the MyThomson app covers the important things you need to think about before you leave, including passports, visas, vaccinations and security. Please make sure you read it ahead of your holiday so that you are fully prepared. You can also create a checklist of these important items using the Holiday checklist on the MyThomson app.
- What happens to the MyThomson app after my holiday?
Once you’ve returned from your holiday, we’ll update your app so that it only displays our contact details. You can also browse the Thomson holiday range. If you do choose to book another holiday, we’ll display your new holiday in the MyThomson app. Just make sure you log in using the correct booking details.
